Invite staff to check in guests using the ticket scanner
Invite staff members to access the ticket scanner, set ticket scanning permissions, and send invitation emails for your event.
Use the ticket scanner to check in guests at your event.
Ticket scanner access
There are two ways someone can access the ticket scanner:
Team members
Team members can access the ticket scanner for all events in your store.
To restrict which tickets a team member can scan for a specific event, invite them to the event and set their ticket scanning permissions.
Staff members
Staff members can only access the ticket scanner for events they are invited to.
Staff members do not have access to your Checkout Page dashboard or store settings.
How to invite staff
Staff members only have access to the event you invite them to.
To invite staff:
- Open your event
- Click Check in guests
- Select Invite staff
Add staff members
You can invite staff by:
- Adding staff individually
- Pasting a list of email addresses
- Adding staff from previous events
You can combine these methods before sending invitations.
There is no limit to the number of staff members you can invite to an event.
If the same staff member needs access to multiple events, they must be invited separately to each event.
Ticket scanning permissions
You can choose which tickets each staff member is allowed to scan.
For example:
- VIP tickets only
- Weekend tickets only
- Staff entrance only
If no restrictions are selected, staff members can scan all tickets for the event.
Review and send invitations
Before sending invitations, review the invitation email your staff members will receive.
You can also:
- Customize the email subject
- Add an optional note
- Send yourself a test email
When ready, click Send invitations.
Invitation emails
Invited staff members receive an email with direct access to the ticket scanner for your event.
The invitation email includes:
- A secure link to open the ticket scanner
- A QR code to open the scanner on mobile devices
- Event details
- Your optional note, if included
Staff members do not need a password or Checkout Page account.
