How to refund a payment
Learn how to refund your customer's one-time, subscription, or payment plan payments.
You may need to refund a customer's payment if they requested it, if there was a mistake, or any other reasons.
You can refund their payment within your Stripe account by either directly in your Stripe account or by accessing your Stripe account from your Checkout Page account.
Refund from Stripe account
You can access the payment in your Stripe account with the following steps:
- Log into your Stripe account
- Click Transactions from the left-side menu

3. Click the 3-dot menu and then click refund payment or the "back arrow" icon


4. A pop-up will appear with the following:
- The full price to refund is selected by default (but you can change change the price to offer a partial refund)
- An option to select the reason for the refund from the drop down menu
- A text box to add additional information about the refund

5. Click to refund the customer!
Access Stripe payment from Checkout Page
You can access the payment in Stripe from your Checkout Page account with the following steps:
- Click Orders from your dashboard
- Select Payments or Event bookings to locate the payment in question that needs to be refunded

3. Select the payment that needs to be refunded

4. Click Refund in Stripe to be taken to the payment in your Stripe account

5. You will be taken to an overview of the payment in Stripe where you can click Refund from trop the right corner

6. A pop-up will appear with the following:

- An option to select the reason for the refund from the drop down menu
- A text box to add additional information about the refund

5. Click to refund the customer!
