Test payments on Checkout Page

How to make test payments to verify checkout functionality before going live

Why test payments?

Testing before sharing your checkout ensures your pricing, fields, confirmation messages, emails, and integrations are working correctly.

Two ways to test

  1. Test card — use Checkout Page's built-in test card to simulate a payment without a real transaction.
  2. Live payment for a low amount — pay yourself a small amount (e.g. $1) using a real card. Best for testing integrations between Checkout Page, Stripe, and third-party services.

The test card only works within the Test payments preview in your dashboard — it cannot be used on live checkout pages.

There is no limit to the number of test payments you can make.

How to make a test card payment

  1. Go to Pages and open the checkout you want to test.
  2. Click Test payments to open the test payment preview.
  3. Complete the checkout fields.
  4. Paste the test card details into the card field and click Pay.

Test card payments are marked as Test under Payments and emails are prefixed with [TEST]. Test card payments do not appear in your Stripe payment history.

How to make a live test payment

Use one of these methods to pay yourself a low amount with a real card:

Apply a discount code:

  1. Create a coupon code that reduces the price to $1.
  2. Go to Checkout → Fields and enable Allow discount codes on checkout.
  3. Open the live checkout, enter the discount code, and pay.

Change the price:

  1. Set the checkout price to a low amount (e.g. $1).
  2. Complete the checkout on your live page or payment link.
  3. Change the price back after testing.

Live test payments are the most reliable way to test integrations.
