How to create lead magnets that offer value in exchange for customer contact information
What is a lead magnet?
A lead magnet is a valuable file (guide, template, checklist) offered in exchange for a customer's email address. Create a form page with a lead magnet field to grow your email list.
How to create a lead magnet
- Go to Pages → Create page → Form.
- Click Create form.
- Go to Details → File downloads.
- Upload your files or drag and drop them into the upload area.
- Go to Fields and add fields for the information you want to capture (e.g. name, email, company name).
How leads access their downloads
After submission, leads can access their files in three ways:
- Confirmation screen — click Download files immediately after submission.
- Confirmation email — click Access your downloads here in the submission confirmation email, which opens the customer portal.
- Customer portal — log in to the customer portal and download files directly.
If you use a custom confirmation email, include a Customer portal link so the lead can access their downloads.
