Add a discount code field

Let customers enter a coupon code and choose where the discount code field appears in your form.

What is the Discount code field?

The Discount code field lets customers enter and apply a coupon before paying.

Adding the field does not create a coupon. You create coupons separately to set the discount amount and any restrictions.

Open the checkout you want to edit.
Select Form fields in the sidebar.
Under Quick add, select Discount code. You can also select Discount code from the field picker.
Click the added field to open its settings.
Under Show as, choose “Add discount code” link or Discount code field.

If your checkout already has a Discount code field, click it to change its appearance.

Displays an Add discount code link. Customers click the link to reveal the input, enter their coupon code and click Apply.

Use this option to keep the form compact while making discounts available to customers who have a code.

Displays the input and Apply button immediately.

Use this option when you want the place to enter a discount code to be visible without an extra click.

Both options let customers apply a coupon. The setting only changes how the field is displayed.

In Form fields, drag the Discount code field to your preferred position.

You can place it anywhere in the form, including inside a group. Drag it into a group, out of a group or between groups as needed.

For example, place it after the customer’s contact details or alongside another field in a two-column group.

Click Create coupon in the Discount code field’s settings to start creating a coupon.

The coupon controls the discount and its conditions. The Discount code field provides the place where customers enter it.
